Video Poker Rules: Basic rules involved in the game
Video Poker is a popular game amongst individuals, who love to gamble. It is called video poker because here one has to play the game against a programmed machine. However, it can also be played against a human banker. Although you will be playing against the machine, the adrenaline will never stop flowing through your brain.

HOW YOU CAN PLAY THE GAME
Here, the machine that you are playing against will deal five cards from a bunch of 52. You have an option to change few or all of your cards. You only have to keep pressing the HOLD button for the card that you desire to keep. Now after you have made your choice, you can discard the cards by pressing the DEAL button and new cards will be replaced by the discarded ones.

The outcome of the result is basically determined after completion of the final hand. The play table on the machine will display the amount that you have won.

RULES OF VIDEO POKER
The rules of video poker game are basically similar in all its variety. However, it does not remove the excitement and thrill involved in them. The ranking is done in the following manner:

Card Ranks
In video poker, Ace can be the lowest as well as the highest card depending on the type of card you are getting. The ascending order of the card looks like ace, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, jack, queen, king and ace.
Hand ranks
Depending on the type of card that you hold, you will be given some points. The list is as follows:

Royal Flush
It will give you 2 thousand points and here ace is the highest rank. Here your hand should contain cards of the same suit for example 10 of heart, jack of heart, queen of heart, king of heart and ace of heart.

Straight Flush
It gives you 250 points and your card should be in sequence and of the same suit. For example: 3 of spade, 4 of spade, 5 of spade, 6 of spade and 7 of spade.

Four of same type
Here the total point value is 125 and should contain 4 cards of same rank. For example: 6 of heart, 6 of spade, 6 of dice and 6 of clubs.

Full house
Here 3 cards should be of same type with a pair and you will get 40 points.

Flush
All cards should be of the same suit. However, maintaining a sequence is not mandatory in this case. You will get 25 points.

Straight
It provides 20 points and here the cards should be consecutive.

Three of same type
Here, three cards should be of same rank and for this you will get 15 points.

Pair
For two pair with different ranks, you will get 10 points and for single pair with same rank you will get 5 point.
