According to John who is the Executive Director of Poker Players’ Alliance of America says that they have scheduled big plans for the year of 2008 with increasing the numbers of the members in the organization. First things first he was of the view that they will be giving major importance to increasing the membership. There are already around one million members.

Efforts are also made to get new State Directors for every particular American state. According to John in the month of January e-mails were sent out to check that which member will volunteer to work for PPA in every state. The result was more than what was expected as the expectation was only for three to four hundred but we get more than thousand replies. The appointed State Directors will be leading the hard work in America ranging from employment and lawmaking efforts.

Mr. John said that with the elections around the corner the efforts will also comprise for the race of Congress and inspiring membership of PPA to get engaged in the elections. He added that they are working on the effective plans for the Capitol Hill and Congressman Mr. Frank bill to knock over UIGEA and guidelines of the industry. Mr. John said that the organization is interested in the Mr. Wexler hard work for making poker legal by making it a skilled game.

Representative Shelly is also supported for the studies being conducted on the online gaming in America. Mr. John was of the view that improvement have been made in educating the law representatives. He added though they had the support of House of Representatives but they still want to have the support from the Senate members for supporting the bills.

Strong planning is also done for World Series of Poker in June at Las Vegas and Mr. John said that they want to make their presence felt there and want to surpass what was before. As we are interested in increasing our membership and they are also interested in making the poker players to get registered for casting their votes. They are also preparing a provision for the poker players of having a contact with their agents with the help of e-mail.

Mr. John said that the main objective of PPA is to regulate online poker in America and added that some of the incidents in the past have shown that an organization should be regulated. It is all about when it will happen rather than keep stressing on that yes it will take place. Talking in a broader sense and politically it is virtually not possible for ignoring the facts, that for an organization regulation is a must and it is beneficial both for the players and for the game.
