Introduction to Baccarat – Thriller of a Game

The word Baccarat founds its existence in the Italian word “Baccara” which implies Zero. It is a simple game with no decisions and available options with the player. Anyone who is desirous of playing Baccarat can play the game; there is no degree of required skill involved with the game.

The players involved in Baccarat usually participate in a roped-off area. The players can sit in an open seat at the Baccarat table. How Baccarat Played?

Every seat occupied by a player corresponds to a fixed number on the entire layout, on one through 15. Three dealers serve each table and a dealer who stands between one and 15 is referred to as the “caller.” The dealer is responsible to ensure that the game is undertaken with cards being dealt from the shoe.

Every player who is engaged in the running game is entitled to a turn for handling the shoe. The player, while handling the shoe, is required to bet the bank. However, any player may consciously decline the shoe and the shoe is then passed to the right from player-to-player. The caller on receiving the shoe from a player then places the shoe in the suitable boxes. He can then either declare the winner or simply call for another card.

Baccarat players can place their bets by simply placing their respective chips in numbered boxes that lies opposite to their respective seats. The placed bets can be made on either the bank or the player himself; the other two dealers collect the lost amount from the losing players after paying off the winning bets. In case, the winner of the game is the Bank, the player with the highest earning is required to pay a commission of 5 percent on the earnings amount.

The records of owed amount by the losing players are kept in a box that is numbered and is kept opposite to the seating position of the two payoff dealers. All the losing players pay their respective accumulated amounts after the shoe is finished. As soon as the shoe is relieved from the cards in playing motion, the eight decks are shuffled and are replaced in the shoe.

Hand Values of Cards

All the cards in play are valued as per their respective counts. The face and tens playing cards are counted as Zero. For instance, if the first two dealt cards are 7 and 8, they will be counted as 5 even though they total 15.

Nine is the highest total a baccarat hand can have; a total of two cards when is nine is “natural”, eight is considered to be the second-best bet. In case, the bank and players have identical hands, the game is termed as a tie and no one wins the game.
