Absolute Poker
faced a fine of Million Dollars
Kahnawake Gaming
Commission has concluded their findings about
the incident of cheating that took place on
January 11 and it was probably the biggest
cheating event that took place on online poker.
In the start of the report the activity of
cheating was declared as wrong action. Further
Kahnawake Gaming Commission has been issued
notice for enquiry of the different places of
Absoulute Poker and taking proper precautions
that the incident is not repeated again and
checking if Absolute Poker has broken any rules.
Gaming Associates took a time period of two
weeks and their report was also included with
the report of Kahnawake Gaming Commission.
Firstly, the report is noteworthy but it only
lacks two things and those are that it did not
mention those who were involved in the Absolute
Poker case. Secondly, the report also did not
reveal if any compensation was provided or is
there any criminal charges filed or not. There
is also no technical aspect mention that how
exactly that cheating took place.
Following are the findings of Kahnawake Gaming
Commission-
- Since August 14 in 2007 some players were
cheating other players for six weeks at Absolute
Poker’s live games. They were using the software
that facilitates them to have a look at the hole
cards of their opponent that result in the
unjust play.
- The report disclosed that the accounts those
were put into use for cheating are- Steamroller
Potripper, Doubledrag, and SupercardM55 etc.
Absolute Poker has been ordered to get rid of
the people behind these account names from
playing any further role in Absolute Poker. It
also suggested that whosoever was involved were
insider or very much linked with the poker room.
- The people those who were associated wit the
Absolute Poker after cheating erased some of
important gaming logs. Absolute Poker also
assisted during the findings.
- After the investigation Gaming Associates did
not find any proof of the involvement of
Absolute Poker.
- As it was necessary by the licensing
directives the anonymous people were not able to
be in contact with Kahnawake Gaming Commission
under 24 hours.
- Gaming Associates also find that Absolute
Poker have compensated the players those all who
have to face injustice. Kahnawake Gaming
Commission had requested the players those who
are not compensated can contact the Commission.
- Kahnawake Gaming Commission also found that
Absolute Poker has not followed rule, not
keeping record for five years after the incident
took place, and failing to report within a given
time of 24 hours.
- Kahnawake Gaming Commission will be reviewing
Absolute Poker and that too at the cost of
Absoute Poker. The company is directed for
applying an effective program and other actions
as directed by Kahnawake Gaming Commission.
- An underdetermined amount will be deposited by
the Absolute Poker with Kahnawake Gaming
Commission for a time period of two years to
balance any further violation of regulations of
Kahnawake. The company will also be paying the
cost that is incurred with the investigation
conducted by Gaming Associates.
